Oracle is a digital portrait painted by Chris Corridore.
Oracle is the first digital painting of my career. It focuses on an oracle, a spiritual woman whose eyes can see hidden knowledge and a persons divine purpose. Black and white was chosen for this piece to invoke a dark, ominous mood, and to draw focus to the eye.
Active Ritual is a portrait series created by Chris Corridore. The images are digitally painted in Photoshop and takes inspiration from styles in the Victorian Era. This time period was chosen because of societies fascination with witchcraft and the occult at the that time. It's a twist of the occult meets Disney princesses.
This story tells of three young girls of three distinct origins. Cerulean, the fair skinned beauty of a wealthy and prestigious political family. Citrine, the charming farmers daughter from the countryside, and Crimson, the quiet yet strange orphan girl raised by the city streets. These three girls from three different worlds share something special, something many may not understand or even fear, but it is something wonderful all in its own. The gift of endless possibilities. The gift of Magic. Together, they live lives shrouded in mystery, keeping their lips sealed of the knowledge they hold and sleeping with one eye open. Together, they seek to understand their true purpose and harness the greatness within them, but it is a fine line they walk, for being caught would mean a tragic end. It's a secret bound in darkness, a hope as bright as the full moon, and a path of great uncertainty. This, is Active Ritual.
The Hunt is a digital art series of animal skulls created by Chris Corridore. It is inspired by the Rorschach inkblot tests and touches on the connection between humans and animals.
The Hunt uses abstract shapes laid out in random patterns to resemble the skulls of animals. The shapes consist of various patterned and textured brushes that have been digitally manipulated and altered.
The main idea of this series was to let the viewer come face to face with their inner beast. The mind gets lost in the abstract patterns and for a moment seems to bond with the creature.

Fables is a series of sketches created by Chris Corridore Art. The drawing style was inspired by the works of Tim Burton, and uses themes from ancient Greek myths as a point of reference.
Each figure is created using a series of lines intertwining to create tall, slender, organic shapes. The poses are meant to mimic those seen in ancient artworks of Gods, heroes, and monsters.
I started the series by drawing 50 initial character designs. From there I slowly removed the weaker ones until I had the 10 I found most suited for the theme, which would be ancient myths. Then, I began stripping away as much detail as possible until I ended up with something like a stick figure for each. This method let each character tell a simple story with minimal detail.
